What is Armotraz 1 mg tablet?
Armotraz is a small white tablet. The active ingredient is Anastrozole 1mg. It fights against breast cancer that depends on estrogen to grow. Doctors mostly give it to post‑menopausal women who are hormone‑receptor positive (ER+ / PR+). Some men with rare breast cancer also take it, but that is uncommon.
Anastrozole belongs to a family of drugs called aromatase inhibitors. It is a special type of inhibitor that blocks the enzyme that produces estrogen in body fat and muscle. Less estrogen → cancer cells starve → tumor slows down or even shrinks.
Uses
- Post‑menopausal women with early breast cancer after surgery/radiotherapy are prescribed as an adjuvant therapy for five years.
