What is Dargen 40 mg injection?
Dargen 40 is an injection that contains the active ingredient Darbepoetin alfa. It is an antineoplastic drug that belongs to the class of medications called hematopoietic growth factors. It is used in the treatment of anaemia (low haemoglobin level in blood) due to long-term kidney disease, patients on dialysis, and chemotherapy. (chemotherapy) used in the treatment of certain types of cancer. Dargen 40 injection works by increasing the production of red blood cells in bone marrow (soft and spongy tissue inside of bones, where blood is formed).
How to use it?
Dargen 40 mg injection is a Darbepoetin alfa injection is used while the kidney patient is getting blood dialysis. It treats anaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease, and kidney failure. It stimulates red blood cell production and improves oxygen levels in the body.
Your doctor may get your blood tests done regularly to monitor the levels of salts (electrolytes such as potassium), haemoglobin, and blood cells in your blood. You should stop taking it and consult with a doctor if you develop shortness of breath or skin rash.

Before taking Dargen 40 injection, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or have had a seizure or stroke. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant or breastfeed.
There are some Common side effects including abdominal pain, high blood pressure, rash, injection site pain, breathlessness, cough, and peripheral enema.
