What is Dargen 60 mcg injection?
Dargen 60 mcg is a Darbepoetin injection. Darbepoetin is an antineoplastic drug which belongs to the class of medications called hematopoietic growth factors. It is used for the treatment of anaemia (low haemoglobin level in blood) due to long-term kidney disease, patients on dialysis, and chemotherapy. While on chemotherapy, the medicine is used to treat many types of cancer. In case the patient has CKD.
What are the uses of Dargen 60 mcg?
Dargen 60 mcg injection is a Darbepoetin alfa injection that is used while the kidney patient is receiving blood dialysis. It treats anaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease and kidney failure. It stimulates red blood cell production and improves oxygen levels in the body.
Your doctor may get your blood tests done regularly to monitor the levels of salts (electrolytes such as potassium), haemoglobin, and blood cells in your blood. You should stop taking it and consult with a doctor if you develop shortness of breath or a skin rash.
How does it work?
Darbepoetin 60 mcg injection works by increasing the production of red blood cells in bone marrow (soft and spongy tissue inside of bones, where blood is formed). It is important to those patients who are suffering from kidney failure and whose kidneys is unable to produce blood cells.
Side effects
There are some Common side effects, including abdominal pain, high blood pressure, rash, injection site pain, breathlessness, cough, and peripheral enema.
