Heparel 100 iu contains Human Hepatitis B immunoglobulin. It’s related to the category of drugs called Immunizing Agents used to prevent the hepatitis B virus post-exposure. An antibody extracted from the plasma of the infected donor that acts against the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Heparel 100 IU is not effective in HBs antigen-positive people (infected with the hepatitis B virus). It is used to prevent hepatitis B after exposure to contaminated blood through sexual contact, accidental needle prick injury, from an infected mother to her newborn, or after a liver transplant.
What is Hepatitis B virus?
Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus. It is given if you have not had a previous vaccination, are not properly vaccinated for the hepatitis B virus, are vaccinated but ineffective, or are at risk of infection. It is also used to prevent infection in infants who are born to a hepatitis-positive mother.  Heparel 100 is protected against the hepatitis B virus for 3-6 months.

Side effects
