Humog HD 600 IU is a Human Menopause Gonadotropin injection. It contains menotropin as its active ingredient. This injection is a mixture of two hormones, luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Both LH and FSH occur naturally in men as well as in women. In women, it manages and keeps reproductive functions normal. These hormones are extracted from the urine of post-menopausal women. The urine of such women is rich in these hormones that can help in treating male hypogonadism in men, and given to women for stimulating follicles for the purpose of pregnancy.
How does it work?
Humog 600 IU belongs to the class of drugs called gonadotropins. It is used to treat fertility disturbances in both women and men. In female patients who are unable to release the egg, which is mature enough for fertilization, from the ovaries during the ovulation period are given to stimulate the ovaries to increase follicle size and growth. It helps in egg (ovum) growth and stimulates the release of the mature eggs from the ovaries into the uterus.
Uses
Menotropin 600 IU injections help in treating ovulation problems in women with polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), especially in those who are not responding appropriately to other medicines (Ex. clomiphene citrate). In the male body, increasing the testosterone level in men which is important for a healthy sperm count.
Side effects
After taking the injection, you will see some side effects in the body like headache, Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, Abdominal pain & cramps, vomiting, nausea, itching & redness in the injectable area, weight gain, diarrhea, and swelling in the abdominal region.
How to store?
