Luveris 75 IU contains Lutropin Alfa, which belongs to the group of medicines called Gonadotropins. It is used to treat infertility in both men and women. In women, it helps in egg (ovum) growth and stimulates the release of the matured eggs from the ovaries into the uterus. This helps in treating ovulation problems in women with polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), especially in those who are not responding appropriately to other medicines.

This injection can also be used to help women with fertility problems and to help in pregnancy. It is generally used in combination with 2 other hormones (FSH and hCG). Lutropin alfa provides luteinizing hormone (LH), which, together with FSH, helps your body get an egg ready for ovulation to help you get pregnant. This medication is not recommended for women whose ovaries no longer make eggs properly (primary ovarian failure).

Luveris 75 IU Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. Each vial is for single use in one patient only. Discard any residue. Luveris is given as a subcutaneous (under your skin) injection in the lower abdominal area or thigh, each day, normally for up to 3 weeks.
The most common side effects of this medicine include allergic reactions, pain at the site of injection, headache, and rash. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had heart disease, or had an ovarian cyst, or a thyroid gland disorder. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Tell your doctor if you are already pregnant or breastfeeding.
