Description

What is Palnat 125 mg capsule?

Palnat 125 mg is an oral anti‑cancer capsule. It helps treat certain breast cancer. Containing the active ingredient Palbociclib. It treats hormone receptor-positive (HR+) and HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. The doctor gives it together with hormonal therapy like letrozole, anastrozole, which are aromatase inhibitors, in the initial phase or with fulvestrant injection. When given in combination, it reduces cancer cell growth.

How it works?

Cancer cells keep dividing without brakes. For division, they pass a gate called G1 to S phase. Two proteins CDK4 and CDK6 push the cell through this gate by phosphorylating Rb protein. Palnat 125 mg blocks CDK4/6. The gate stays closed. Cell stuck. Many cancer cells then age and die. Healthy normal cells feel less effect because they divide slower.

When it is prescribed?

  • Post‑menopausal women with HR+/HER2‑ metastatic breast cancer as first line with letrozole treatment.
  • Premenopausal women also, but the doctor adds ovarian suppression (like goserelin).
  • After previous hormonal therapy failed, used with fulvestrant.

Dose & Schedule

  • Standard starting dose: 125 mg once daily.
  • Take 21 days continuously, then 7 days break. This is one 28‑day cycle.
  • Swallow whole with food (light meal best). Same time each day.
  • Do not crush or open the capsule.

Get a regular CBC (complete blood count) test done.

Missed dose?

If you miss and still within 12 hours of your usual time, take it now. If more than 12 hours, just skip. Do not double. If you vomit after taking it, do not re‑dose that day. Continue the next day’s schedule. Ask your doctor for more clarity about your dosage.

How to store?

  • Store it in a cool and dry place.
