Xarelto 20 mg is a type of blood thinner. It contains the Rivaroxaban as its active ingredient. Rivaroxaban 10 mg is a type of anticoagulant. It stop clots from forming inside veins. The medication works on Factor Xa. Xarelto 20 mg helps in blocking Factor Xa, which caused blood clots. Less clot = lower chance of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Uses

  • After knee or hip replacement surgery to prevent deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism conditions.
  • Short‑term clot prevention when you had a short hospital stay and high risk to form clot (doctor decide).
  • Sometimes after a big leg clot or lung clot is treated, lower dose 10 mg is used for extended prevention.
  • For atrial fibrillation or active DVT/PE treatment.

How does it works?

The blood make clots using many proteins. One of them is Factor Xa. Rivaroxaban prevents clotting. So fibrin net doesn’t build well. Clots either do not form or stay small. Good for clot risk. However, it also means that bleeding can happen more easily, even by bruising.
