What is Bevacirel 400 mg Injection?

Bevacirel 400mg injection contains Bevacizumab as its active ingredient. It is manufactured by Reliance Lifesciences in India. This drug belongs to a group called monoclonal antibodies, medicines built to lock onto one specific target in the body.

How Does Bevacizumab 400 mg injection work inside the Body?

Bevacizumab works by blocking a protein called Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor. Tumors release VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Facto) to tell the body to grow new blood vessels toward them. When Bevacizumab blocks this protein, the tumor cannot develop new blood supply it needs to keep growing.

This does not kill the cancer directly. But it cuts off part of what those tumor depends on, and that can slow the disease down when combined with other cancer treatment.

When a Tumor Builds Its Own Blood Supply

Some tumors do not just sit and grow on their own. They send out signals that force the body to build new blood vessels straight into the tumor. These vessels carry oxygen and nutrients that let the cancer grow faster and spread further. Bevacirel 400mg injection is used along with other cancer treatment to slow this process down.

Side effects

Most people tolerate treatment fine, but side effects can still show up. Common ones include:

  • Headache
  • Feeling tired
  • High blood pressure
  • Nose bleeds
  • Protein in the urine
  • Stomach pain
  • Slow wound healing

Some side effects need urgent attention. Heavy bleeding, sudden chest pain, or a wound that will not close should be reported to your doctor right away. If bleeding does not stop, treat it as an emergency.

Suggestions

Bevacirel 400mg injection should not be started right before or after surgery. It can slow down wound healing and raise the risk of bleeding at the surgical site.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, since this drug can harm an unborn baby. People with a history of blood clots or heart problems should talk to their doctor first. The same goes for high blood pressure that is not under control. Anyone with an untreated bowel condition should mention it too, since this drug has been linked to tears in the gut wall in rare cases.

How to store the injection safely?

  • Store the vial in a fridge between 2°C and 8°C.
  • Keep it away from light and never freeze it.
  • Do not shake the vial, and check that the liquid inside looks clear before use.
  • Once a vial is opened, use it only within the time your pharmacist marks on the pack.
