What is Humog HD 1200 IU?

Humog 1200 IU is an injection. It contains menotropin, which is a mixture of two hormones, luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Both LH and FSH occur naturally in men as well as women and are usually in normal reproductive functions. These are extracted from the urine of post-menopausal women. Such type of urine is rich in hormones that can help in treating male hypogonadism in men and given to women for stimulating follicles for the purpose of pregnancy.

How does Humog 1200 IU work?

Humog HD 1200 IU belongs to the class of drugs called gonadotropins. It’s used in the treatment of infertility in women and men. In females, women do not release the egg properly for fertilization from the ovaries during the ovulation period. It helps in egg (ovum) growth and stimulates the release of the mature eggs from the ovaries into the uterus.  Also helps to treat ovulation problems in women with polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), especially in those who are not responding appropriately to other medicines (Ex, clomiphene citrate). In the male body, increasing the testosterone level in men increases the quality of sperm.

Each vial contains 2 mL purified form of Human Menopausal Gonadotropin, also known as Menotropin 600 IU/ML.
