What is Zolasta 4mg injection?
Zolasta 4mg injection contains Zoledronic acid as its active ingredient. It is made by Intas and comes as a ready-to-use injection. This medicine belongs to a group of drugs called bisphosphonates. They work directly on bone tissue.
What is Zolasta 4mg used for?
Doctors prescribe Zolasta 4mg injection for conditions that weaken bones or affect calcium levels in the blood. It is used in adults. Common reasons for prescribing it include:
- High calcium in the blood caused by cancer
- Bone damage from cancers that have spread to the bones
- A bone disease called Paget’s disease
- Prevention of bone loss in certain cancer treatments
How Zolasta 4mg injection works?
Bone tissue is always being broken down and rebuilt. In some conditions, the breakdown happens too fast. Zoledronic acid slows the cells that break down bone. This helps bone stay denser and stronger.
It also lowers the amount of calcium released from bone into the blood. This brings high calcium levels back down.
