What is Clexane 40 mg injection?

Clexane 40 mg is a prefilled syringe injection that contains Enoxaparin 40mg (0.4 ML), which is low molecular weight heparin and related to the category of drugs called Anticoagulants or Blood Thinner. It works by preventing blood clots that can cause miscarriage. Blood clots are caused by different types of medical conditions such as unstable angina, after surgery long periods of bed rest due to illness, heart attack, and blood clots. It is similar to the formation of clots in the dialysis machine’s tubes. A blood clot is a mass when platelets, proteins, and cells in the blood stick together. Blood clots can occur in any body part like heart attack, stroke, organ damage (even coma or death), or paralytic attack.

Clexane 40mg is used during dialysis, after and before surgery, or for severe chest pain (angina), and in some cases, Clexane 40mg is used during the period of Pregnancy. Clexane 0.40 ML also helps to prevent the growth of existing blood clots. It can also be used to reduce the risk of blood clot formation caused due to prolonged periods of immobility or by cancer therapy.

Clexane 40mg is not recommended for use in patients who are bleeding heavily or have any pre-existing conditions (such as stomach ulcer or stroke) that can increase the risk of internal bleeding. It is also not suitable for use in patients scheduled for spinal anesthesia or lumbar puncture.

Before taking the injection tell your doctor if you have any liver or kidney-related issues or heart diseases, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding women, if you are diabetic, have high blood pressure, or have a history of stomach ulcers.

There are some side effects of this injection like bleeding, pink patches on your skin, high platelets count in blood, injection site reactions (such as pain or irritation), skin rashes, low platelet count, bleeding or bruising, and headache edema, anemia, fever, diarrhea, and increased liver enzymes. A severe headache could be a sign of bleeding in the brain.
