What is Tenvir AF 25 mg tablet?
Tenvir AF 25 mg tablet is a small antiviral tablet. It helps control HIV‑1 infection. Also used for chronic Hepatitis B virus (HBV) in some adults. It is a newer form of tenofovir. It contains the active ingredient Tenofovir Alafenamide 25mg. It is of a lower dose, but very effective. It enters the target cells more effectively, resulting in less drug circulating in the blood. Reduces its effects on kidneys and bones, which is a common side effect of Tenovofir 300 mg.
How it works
The tablet goes inside the body. Tenvir AF, when the medication enters the immune cell or liver cell, it breaks down, forms tenofovir, and then the active ingredient Alafenamide. That active part blocks viral reverse transcriptase (in HIV) or polymerase (in HBV). Preventing duplication of virus load. Viral load falls slowly. The immune system recovers quickly from the effect. Liver inflammation calms in hepatitis B.
